In 2015, Basic Design was invited to collaborate with the Binners’ Project on a pilot project called the “Binners’ Box”. We facilitated a community engagement session and based on findings proposed instead a hook, which achieves critical project goals:

- Reduces indignity and loud noise of rummaging through bins.
- Allows residents to show solidarity with Binners by placing an artefact in their laneway,
- Increases efficiency of collection for Binners.
